Turun seudun puhdistamo Oy has implemented the Flocmark® application at the Kakolanmäki wastewater treatment plant. Running on the Toihan Cloud platform, the computer vision application supports the laboratory’s operational monitoring by assessing qualitative changes in activated sludge structure.
Toihan was selected as a partner due to its strong expertise in wastewater treatment processes. “With Flocmark, we can collect more detailed data on the structural development of activated sludge. We can also respond more quickly to structural changes in the sludge. This gives us greater transparency and support for process control decision-making,” says Jouko Tuomi, Production Manager at Turun seudun puhdistamo Oy.
The result is not only improved monitoring, but also a new way of operating — combining unique process expertise, data, and advanced analytics to support faster decision-making and more stable performance. Increased transparency helps operating personnel gain a deeper understanding of process dynamics and provides the capability to act earlier and more effectively.
